Head of SCM Transformation (m/f/d)

The Company

Our client is a private equity-owned company and a leading supplier of industrial goods / semi-finished goods / B2B. It has been a reliable and competent partner to its customers for more than 40 years. Reinforcing profiles for the plastic window industry, air duct profiles as well as special profiles made to customer specifications are manufactured to the highest quality at the company's locations in Germany. Approximately 100,000 tons of steel are processed for this purpose each year.

The company has recently acquired additional market participants in the EU and in UK. Due to the fast growth, the company faces a number of challenges that require a Head of SCM Transformation (m/f/d) in order to execute key projects related to the SCM expansion, production footprint, and customers. The position is new in the company and will report to the CEO.

Your Tasks

  • Leading multi-disciplinary project teams for the transformation of the Supply Chain function
  • Driving the establishment and optimization of ERP Supply Chain and Integrated Business Planning
  • Leading and establishing necessary change management measures to ensure a smooth transition
  • Providing leadership in defining best practices and applying project management standards
  • Conducting Project Team Meetings to ensure that all stakeholders are working in accordance to the agreed to Project Plan
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives
  • Establish and build key relationships with external suppliers like logistic operators; set up the appropriate governance model and implement routines to drive best-in-class operations
  • Ensure initiatives move into implementation and lead them to rapid and pragmatic execution
  • Provide transparency and visibility by tracking progress of initiatives to enable better and faster decision making and predictability of outcomes
  • Collaborate with CFO/CEO to ensure all critical SCM and procurement value creation parameters of initiatives are made transparent and kept up to date
  • Service/support function to the organization to enable functions and business units to focus on execution
  • Ensure consistency of internal discussions and progress reviews that take place at various levels (e.g., steering committee meetings, program office meetings, board meetings, advisory board meetings)

What You Bring With You

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree with technical background, or equivalent experience and extensive experience within the Supply Chain
  • 2-4 years relevant work experience in consulting, in Supply Chain Management and Procurement with international exposure in the industrial goods sector would be a plus
  • Strong analytical and methodological skills and understanding of Supply Chain Management and Procurement, as well as the industrial goods market constraints
  • Strong understanding for strategic questions in the industrial goods services sector and how these translate to the overall value of the company
  • Thorough, structured, independent and results-oriented working style – output and impact, not input-oriented
  • Analytical, results-driven, hands-on mentality
  • Seasoned project management skills, advanced moderation and presentation skills
  • Very good command of English and German
  • Good social skills, ideally experience with operational line management
