International Mid-cap Private Equity Fund Focused on Operational Value Creation

The Company

Our client is an established mid-cap international private equity fund with a long and successful track record and several billion Euros under management. For their Portfolio Team they plan to hire a Portfolio Manager (m/f/d) who will support one specific portfolio company in all aspects of the transformation process of the portfolio firm (restructuring, sales, process & production optimization, internal processes, etc.). You will be part of the Portfolio Team (also contract with the private equity firm) and support one portfolio company.

Your Tasks

  • Cross-functional operational transformation projects in a mid-cap, hands-on environment with limited management resources, e.g.
  • Lead restructuring and transformation process
  • Sales and process optimization of the entire company
  • IT/process improvements (e.g. implementation of a new ERP system)
  • You will be part of the management team
  • Mid-term career perspectives: to become a C-level role at a portfolio company with shares

What You Bring With You

  • 4-8 years of professional experience, from top-notch strategy or operational consulting firm
  • Additional experience from a (line, general management) position is a plus
  • Generalist with functional focus on restructuring, transformation, value creation
  • Industry experience in the healthcare sector (also digital health) is a plus
  • Some experience in working with private equity firms
  • Profound management- and leadership skills in difficult situations requiring change: good combination of soft skills (motivating people in a consensual company culture) and clear target focus
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and passion
  • Ideally mid-market (German ‘Mittelstand’) exposure or at least ‘mindset’ in combination with intellectual smartness
  • Hands-on, ‘get-things-done’ type of person who likes to work in mid-cap environments
  • Excellent German (native speaker) & English language skills
