The Company

The Group Strategy and M&A central division is responsible for the strategic development of our client in terms of organic and non-organic growth. GS M&A conducts project-based work in close collaboration with the Board of Management in the business fields of primary insurance and reinsurance, as well as with all central divisions, meaning that this position offers excellent opportunities for further personal and professional development within the Group.

Your Tasks

  • Shaping stra tegy at Group level; generating business development ideas and defining initiatives for the Group, as well as strategic ambition for the businesses
  • Shaping the development of the Group’s business field portfolios (portfolio management), including deal pipeline and prioritization of potential M&A targets
  • Initiation and implementation of strategic analyses and recommendations for action
  • Leading or supporting in the prioritization and assessment of M&A transactions and PMI in the M&A process
  • Contributing in relation to organizational development within the Group
  • Preparing submissions to Board of Management and Strategy Committee at Group level
  • Preparation, moderation and follow-up of workshops with senior managers of the business fields

What You Bring With You

  • Excellent academic record from a renowned university
  • 3-6 years (actual level Senior Consultant or Project Manager) in top tier consulting firm
  • Project experience in the financial services industry is a plus but not mandatory
  • Substantial international experience from working or studying abroad
  • Strong analytical and methodological skills and understanding of business economics as well as the capital market
  • Strong understanding for strategic questions in the financial services sector and how these translate to the Group in particular
  • Ability to make decisions on digitalization and its possible implications for the financial services sector
  • Thorough, structured, independent and results-oriented working style – output and impact, not input oriented
  • Credible counterpart and go-to person for top management in the business fields – able to stand the line where necessary
  • Seasoned project management skills, advanced moderation and presentation skills
  • Very good command of English and German
