International Mid-cap Private Equity Fund Focused on Operational Value Creation

The Company

Our client is an established mid-cap international private equity fund with a long and successful track record and several billion Euros under management. For their Portfolio Team they plan to hire a Portfolio Manager (m/f/d) who will support 2-3 portfolio companies in all aspects of the transformation process of the portfolio firm (sales, process & production optimization, internal processes, etc.). Perspective is to develop with the Portfolio Team and/or taking over a C-level role with a portfolio company.

Your Tasks

  • Cross-functional operational transformation projects in a mid-cap, hands-on environment with limited management resources, e.g.
  • Lean manufacturing/production optimization
  • Sales process optimization
  • IT/process improvements (e.g. implementation of a new ERP system)
  • You will support 2-3 portfolio companies and act closely with the management team
  • Mid-term career perspectives: to become a C-level role at a portfolio company with shares

What You Bring With You

  • 6-12 years of professional experience, from top-notch strategy or operational consulting firm plus additional experience from a (line, general management) position
  • Generalist with functional focus on general marketing & sales, operation, transformation, value creation
  • Operational performance improvement experience required within the manufacturing sector (industrials, automotive, consumer goods etc.) is an advantage
  • Experience in working with private equity firms
  • Profound management- and leadership skills in difficult situations requiring change: good combination of soft skills (motivating people in a consensual company culture) and clear target focus
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and passion
  • Absolute flexibility, willingness to travel
  • Ideally mid-market (German ‘Mittelstand’) exposure or at least ‘mind-set’ in combination with intellectual smartness
  • Hands-on, ‘get-things-done’ type of person who likes to work in mid-cap environments
  • Excellent German (native speaker) & English language skills
