The Data and Analytics division (DAA) drives and coordinates group’s agenda on data, advanced analytics, machine learning and AI. The goal is to enable new and better business via data-centric solutions and create new strategic options through data & analytics excellence.

The Data Management & Engineering department in DAA is responsible to develop and apply technology, processes and AI and NLP / LLM supported capabilities to successfully execute the data strategy. At the exciting forefront of the digital transformation and the rapidly growing importance of data, one aims to both improve the insurance/reinsurance business and develop new solutions and services.

We are looking for a passionate leader (m/f/d) for data & technology and a solid understanding of (Re-)Insurance to drive the developments.

Your Tasks

  • Responsible for vision, roadmap and IT budget for data engineering and management capabilities, Data Lake, Flamingo / NLP and the BDAP to empowering Data & Analytics teams
  • Advance and support group´s data strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders, identify business needs / data potentials and derive solutions accordingly
  • Grow a sustainable and cost-efficient global delivery capability for data engineering
  • Foster the integration of AI and NLP / LLM into all data management processes to improve efficiency and capture data with higher quality
  • Lead and develop a highly qualified and motivated team of Data Engineers and Data Scientists
  • Represent and drive the data engineering and data management community
  • Coach and further develop a technology and AI-oriented team to create business value
  • Represent and drive data management and engineering topics in the DAA leadership team

What You Bring With You

  • University degree in Computer Science, Physics, Maths, Statistics or an equivalent degree
  • First-class and proven leadership skills (5+ years) for managing highly qualified tech teams
  • Passion for data & technology and the enthusiasm to run a department in a very dynamic environment
  • Strong know-how of Data Management & Governance, Big Data Technology and AI
  • Understanding of insurance operations/ value chain
  • Outstanding entrepreneurial, conceptional/strategic and analytical skills
  • Charismatic personality and experience in aligning different interests and objectives of heterogeneous stakeholder groups
  • Drive, dedication and a high level of commitment and performance attitude to execute use cases
  • Experience in developing colleagues through coaching, feedback and providing opportunities
  • Strong presentation, communication, consulting and conceptual skills
  • Ability to think and work in a Group-wide network
  • Excellent command of English, knowledge of German is a plus
