The Company

Our client is a leading German insurance group. The company is setting up a large transformation program, all processes/IT-related topics are going to be revised fundamentally to set up something new (shared services model) on a global level.

We are looking for a Head of Group CIO Portfolio Management (m/f/d) to lead a team of 6 Managers. The aim is to analyse the demand management of the IT investment portfolio, to manage the IT Investment portfolios of each holding company and to define the governance for IT investment portfolio management.

Your Tasks

  • Disciplinary and functional management of the CIO Portfolio department
  • Responsible for the operational management of the non-Germany IT investment portfolio
  • Responsible for the overall governance of the IT investment portfolio management (guidelines, templates, planning process, etc.) for all Holdings of the group and Tech-Hubs
  • Provision of steering relevant information as well as execution of the efficiency program
  • Provision of decision documents suitable for management (e.g. portfolio reporting)
  • Support of the respective departments in the preparation of business cases
  • Consulting and duty to participate in process design and optimization in particular with the direct interface units (IT Controlling, Global Delivery, Group Controlling)

What You Bring With You

  • Academic degree in business administration (ideally doctorate) or comparable professional training
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in IT consulting (ideally in the financial services sector)
  • Min. 3 years of management responsibility with accountability for results
  • Experience in the coordination and management of complex coordination processes (ideally in IT transformation programs)
  • Confident negotiation skills in contact with business partners and external providers
  • Distinct insurance expertise as well as business knowledge is a plus
  • International mindset and experience
  • High tech affinity
  • Excellent command of English language; German language skills would be a plus
